Health Risks Of Eating Too Much Dairy

Digestive System Issues

Consuming too much dairy can cause your body to find it difficult to break down and therefore causes bloating or cramping. This can then lead to feeling nauseous. If your body is struggling to break down the dairy in your food, it can be associated with lactose intolerance which is a very common health issue that can lead to vomiting (in severe cases) after consuming large amounts of dairy.

Worsen Acne

If you have acne or breakout-prone skin, dairy products can make this worse. Products like skim milk is believed to make acne worse. If you are not lactose intolerant, your body could be suffering from excess dairy consumption in other ways such as acne. Dairy can disrupt insulin in the body which irritates acne-prone skin.

Increased Calories

Dairy products are seen as a vital part of a balance diet which includes nutrients and vitamins. However, the problem is that they can contain a lot of calories which can lead to weight gain and encourage obesity. Suffering from obesity can put your body at risk of other health issues such as strokes and heart attacks.

Increased Heart Disease Risk

Dairy foods are high in saturated fats, which mean they increase your risk of poor cardiovascular health and can lead to other issues like heart disease and high cholesterol. Your heart needs certain types of cholesterol to operate, but this would be labelled as “HDL cholesterol” which in other words, means ‘good’ cholesterol. And dairy products increases “LDL cholesterol” which means ‘bad’ cholesterol.
